Our Vision
Oroville Hope Center is a place where the broken, hopeless, needy, and homeless can receive the practical help they need.
Food & Clothing
The Operation Hope meal program provides hot meals six days a week to our most vulnerable. We also provide emergency food bags & clothing support for people struggling to get by. This includes clothing, blankets, linens, personal hygiene items, emergency food bags, referral to our Food Bank to enroll in the Family Food Box Program, and referral to a host of City/County services.
Job Training
In cooperation with the City of Oroville, our City Works program provides jobs for eligible Hope Center guests. Those guests within our programs who have a desire to work but have been unable to find employment have the opportunity to be hired with screening to the City Works Crew which takes on beautification jobs throughout the city such as abandoned lots and blighted areas to make Oroville a more inviting and beautiful city, and to bring dignity and provision to the City Works participants.
Charity & Volunteer Programs
Looking to give back? We have many opportunities to contribute whether through volunteering or making a donation. We accept donations of clean, like-new clothing, linens & household items, as well as in-date, non-perishable canned & packaged foods. You can also make a one-time financial donation or set up a monthly financial pledge.
Our Story
“Fifteen years ago, Larry and I were living close to downtown Oroville. We had five children in our small house at that time and Larry was off work due to a job site injury. We were in ministry in our local church, but with a newborn baby and a physical impairment from Larry’s surgeries we were struggling to get by financially, and it took a toll on us emotionally. Larry began walking through our neighborhood praying early each morning, searching for God in the midst of our struggles.” – Stephanie Hayden
